Railway sector with the TFK.Group at Railtex in Birmingham, UK
On 14th – 16th May 2019, the dedicated railway industry event - Railtex - will be held at the NEC in Birmingham. First staged in 1993, the three-day international railway infrastructure exhibition is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors. With industry keynote speakers, technical seminars, project updates and rail infrastructure briefings, Railtex is for anyone involved in the planning, implementing and operating the fixed assets of Britain’s railway infrastructure. Following last year’s success, the TFK.Group, represented by UK subsidiary Copper Cable Company, will present their London Underground and Network Rail PADS approved product portfolio, including traction feeder, armored power and pilot signal cable designs. For the specialist fire protection market, TFK.Group will present their highly successful FLAME-X fire integrity power cable and fire alarm emergency lighting cables, approved by London Underground and third-party laboratories BASEC and LPCB.
Unprecedented levels of investment in Britain’s railway infrastructure offers many opportunities in a busy, exciting and fast changing market sector. With transformational master plan projects including the HS2 high-speed line, Crossrail 2 and the government’s CP6, targeted to enhance existing infrastructure and modernise its assets to meet both today’s and future demand.
Cables and wires manufacturer TFK.Group, being London Underground approved, are the framework contract supplier of 500sqmm and 935sqmm low smoke zero halogen DC traction feeder cables to the London Underground network; also providing medium voltage armoured power cables for LU’s Sub Surface Line (SSL3) railway and MPSU3 upgrades. As an Achilles RISQS accredited manufacturer, TFK.Group`s recent Network Rail projects include the supply of over 50km of PADS approved 45kV track feeder cables to the Great Western Electrification Programme in the South West.
Showcasing at Railtex this year is TFK.Group`s innovative fire safety engineering technologies for high-rise public buildings and specialised underground car parks – the Flame-X 950 Series 6 cable range. One of the most important factors in any fire situation is to maintain the electrical power supply to life safety and fighting systems including smoke barriers, extraction fans, smoke and heat exhaust systems, fire-fighting lifts and pumped fire suppression systems. Flame-X 950 Series 6 London Underground approved cables, meets the exacting standards of reduced flame propagation and low emissions of smoke and toxic fumes, whilst ensuring the continuity of circuit integrity in the event of fire. Flame-X 950 Series 6 cable, being third party BASEC and LPCB approved, meets the highest BS8519 fire survival category of 120 minutes, suitable for the most critical ‘Category 1’ life safety and fire-fighting applications.
